Product Description
Description
Support heart health without the flush with NOW Foods Flush-Free Niacin, a niacin supplement.
NOW Foods Flush-Free Niacin is a non-GMO, vegetarian/vegan, and kosher dietary supplement that supports nutritional health with a form of niacin that gradually releases to avoid the characteristic niacin flush. This essential B complex vitamin contains inositol hexanicotinate, which slowly breaks down in the body to yield free niacin and inositol, allowing for true niacin activity without the discomfort many people cannot tolerate.

Questions and Answers about NOW Foods, Flush-Free Niacin
Have a Question?
-
What is flush-free niacin good for?
Flush-free niacin, also known as inositol hexanicotinate, is a form of vitamin B3 that may support cardiovascular health without causing the skin flushing often associated with regular niacin. It may help maintain healthy cholesterol levels and support overall heart health, though its effects may be less potent than regular niacin.
-
How long does niacin flush free last?
Flush-free niacin is designed to be released slowly in the body, minimizing the risk of the flushing sensation. The duration of its effects may vary depending on individual factors and the specific dosage taken. It's best to follow the recommended dosage on the product label or consult with your healthcare provider.
-
Can you take niacin flush every day?
The safety of long-term daily use of flush-free niacin supplements has not been extensively studied. It's best to consult with your healthcare provider to determine if daily use is appropriate for your individual needs and to discuss any potential risks or interactions with other medications or supplements.
-
Is it safe to take 500mg of niacin a day?
The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for niacin is 16 mg for adult men and 14 mg for adult women. While higher doses of niacin, such as 500 mg, may be used for specific health conditions, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider before taking high doses of niacin to ensure safety and appropriateness for your individual needs.
-
Is niacin safe for kidneys?
High doses of niacin may potentially harm the kidneys, particularly in individuals with pre-existing kidney conditions. If you have any kidney-related concerns or are taking medications that affect kidney function, it's essential to consult with your healthcare provider before taking niacin supplements.
-
What foods contain niacin?
Niacin is found naturally in various foods, such as poultry, fish, nuts, legumes, and fortified grains. Some good sources of niacin include turkey, chicken, salmon, tuna, peanuts, mushrooms, and brown rice.
