Questions and Answers about 21st Century, Zinc Plus Vitamins C & B-6, Chewable, Cherry Flavored

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • What are the benefits of vitamin C and zinc chewable tablets?

Vitamin C and zinc chewable tablets combine the immune-boosting properties of both nutrients. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that supports immune function, while zinc plays a crucial role in immune cell development and function. The chewable format can be more palatable and convenient for some users. The addition of vitamin B6 may further support immune health and energy metabolism.

  • What are the benefits of taking vitamin C and zinc daily?

Taking vitamin C and zinc daily may help support overall immune function, potentially reducing the frequency and duration of common colds. Vitamin C also supports skin health and acts as an antioxidant, while zinc is important for wound healing, protein synthesis, and numerous enzymatic reactions in the body.

  • What are the side effects of taking vitamin C and zinc tablets?

Common side effects of vitamin C and zinc supplements may include mild digestive issues like nausea, stomach cramps, or diarrhea. Zinc can cause a metallic taste in the mouth. High doses of vitamin C may lead to kidney stones in some individuals. If you experience any concerning symptoms, discontinue use and consult with a healthcare provider.

  • Do vitamin C and zinc lighten skin?

While vitamin C is sometimes used in topical skincare products for its potential skin-brightening effects, there's limited evidence that oral vitamin C and zinc supplements directly lighten skin. These nutrients support overall skin health, which may contribute to a healthier complexion, but expectations for significant skin lightening should be tempered.

  • What's the best time to take Vitamin C and Zinc?

Vitamin C and zinc can typically be taken at any time of day. Some people prefer taking them with a meal to reduce the risk of stomach upset. If you're using them specifically for immune support during illness, they can be taken at the onset of symptoms. Consistency is key, so choose a time that works best for your routine.

  • What can Zinc do to your body?

Zinc plays numerous important roles in the body. It supports immune function, aids in wound healing, and is crucial for protein synthesis and cell division. Zinc also supports normal growth and development, helps maintain sense of taste and smell, and is involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates. However, while zinc is essential, excessive intake can lead to adverse effects, so it's important to stick to recommended doses.
