Questions and Answers about Yerba Prima, Great Plains Bentonite + Herbal Detox

    Have a Question?

    Ask a Question
    • What does bentonite clay detox do?

Bentonite clay detox is believed to help remove toxins and impurities from the body. The clay has a negatively charged surface that can attract positively charged toxins, potentially binding to them and facilitating their removal from the body. This process may help support the body's natural detoxification processes, particularly in the digestive system. Some proponents claim it can help with various digestive issues, skin problems, and overall wellbeing.

    • How do you use Great Plains bentonite?

Great Plains bentonite is typically used by mixing a specified amount of the clay powder with water or juice to create a drinkable solution. The exact amount and frequency can vary based on the product instructions and individual needs. It's often recommended to drink the mixture on an empty stomach, either first thing in the morning or before bed. It's important to stay well-hydrated when using bentonite clay products.

    • Does bentonite detox the liver?

While bentonite clay is not directly metabolized by the liver, some believe it may indirectly support liver function through its overall detoxifying effects on the body. By potentially binding to toxins in the digestive tract, it might reduce the overall toxic load on the liver. However, it's important to note that the liver is the body's primary detoxification organ, and bentonite clay should not be considered a replacement for maintaining overall liver health through proper diet and lifestyle.

    • What is bentonite used for?

Bentonite has a wide range of uses both internally and externally. Internally, it's used as a detoxifying agent, potentially helping with digestive issues and overall body cleansing. Externally, it's used in face masks and other skincare products for its purported ability to draw out impurities from the skin. In broader applications, bentonite is used in various industries for its absorbent properties, including in water purification, as a binding agent in certain products, and even in some medical applications.

    • Is bentonite safe to use?

Bentonite is generally considered safe for most people when used as directed. It's a natural clay that has been used for centuries in various cultures for its purported health benefits. However, as with any supplement, it's important to follow recommended dosages and be aware of potential interactions or contraindications. Some people may experience digestive discomfort or constipation, especially if not enough water is consumed along with the clay.

    • What are the disadvantages of bentonite?

While bentonite has potential benefits, there are some disadvantages to consider. It may interfere with the absorption of certain medications and nutrients if taken at the same time. Overuse or improper use of bentonite clay can lead to constipation or other digestive issues. There's also a risk of consuming contaminants if the clay is not sourced from reputable suppliers. Some people may experience allergic reactions or skin irritation when using bentonite topically.
